Capturing Moments, Telling Stories

My Journey

Photography is not just a profession for me; it’s a lifelong passion that has shaped my perspective and enriched my life. Growing up, my father was always behind the camera, capturing family moments and the beauty of nature. I was often the subject of his lens, but it wasn't until I began traveling that my own interest in photography blossomed. My journey into the world of photography truly began while studying at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where I explored various artistic mediums, but it wasn’t until I took my first photography workshop with John and Barbara Gerlach in 1997 that I realized the power of a photograph.

In 2006, I transitioned to digital photography after experimenting with Nikon’s slide scanner and diving into the world of Photoshop. This decision opened new avenues for creativity and expression.

My Artistic Vision

I find immense joy behind the viewfinder, where time stands still, and the noise of the world fades away. My goal is simple: to capture the most stunning images possible, whether they are of landscapes, life’s candid moments, or the delicate beauty of nature. My work reflects my experiences, inspirations, and the places I’ve traveled, ranging from city streets to serene vistas.

My images have been featured in various publications, including Nature Photographer Magazine, iPhoneLife Magazine, and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Calendar. Additionally, my work has been showcased in galleries such as the Rehoboth Art League and The Seaford Historical Museum, where I supported the Smithsonian’s traveling show “Fences.” Currently, my photographs are on display at More Than Fine Framing in Ruxton, Maryland.

A Journey of Learning and Sharing

Throughout my career, I have had the pleasure of teaching and leading photography workshops. I instructed at Johns Hopkins University and conducted various workshops and lectures, sharing my love for photography with aspiring artists. Some notable topics I have explored include Impressionism in Photography, Creative Macro Photography, and Color Theory. In February 2018, I embarked on a new chapter in Oahu, Hawaii, where I am reestablishing my creative voice amidst the stunning scenery.
